Understanding the Essence of a Priestess Calling

Do you hear the hum of the divine priestess? A deep ancient call welling up from within that informs all of your actions and imbues every area of your life? This call will challenge you to your core encouraging you to release what no longer serves you but if you let yourself surrender to the call, the path opens up and is infused with magic.

As the archetype of feminine presence and spirituality, she guides us to truly embody our physical body – our sensual, alive all-human bodies – and seek wisdom by deepening into our physicality, rather than escaping from it. The Priestess directs us to hold our spiritual practice and experience as a high priority.

What is the definition of a priestess?

Priestess, Beautiful woman, fashion model, elegance, sensuality, glamour, smiling, confidence generated by artificial intelligence

The priestess stands as a representation of feminine mystery, divine wisdom and enigmatic power. She travels between the material and astral realms and brings back wisdom from the unseen to share with those whom she is guided to share with.

She walks a tightrope balancing between serving her own sacred needs and serving the spiritual needs of the community. She has a connection to nature and is deeply devoted to spirit… a woman who honours both the God and Goddess – the feminine and masculine divinity. A priestess offers wise counsel and helps us to see beyond the veil.

The Signs and Symptoms of Having a Priestess Calling

Forgotten Her Gifts Due To Trauma

A priestess can translate information from spirit into a format that is comprehensible and relatable to people, usually at the exact moment they need to hear it. She is a natural born healer but experienced past lives where she had spiritual gifts and was persecuted for them. As a result many priestesses hid their gift for fear of persecution and then eventually, through being disconnected from intuition, forgot how to access them.

She may have experienced hardships in earlier life where her boundaries were violated and would’ve had to energetically reside just outside of her body to feel safe. Her lack of boundaries and embodiment muddled with her natural affinity for healing and made her a target for narcissistic or siphoning personalities. To remember and access your gifts again, it is important to sit in sacred circles where the settings are safe and space is held by gifted healers.

Drawn To Mystery Schools

A priestess is naturally drawn to the occult and mystery schools but must discern between knowledge that holds ancient information and those that are new age or trendy and will eventually pass. Spiritual insights come back to you the more that you are seated in, and learn to trust your intuition.

She must learn to balance and discern between information that comes from the egoistic self and messages that come from the divine. Her gifts are remembered when she has learned how to ground and set aside excessive vanity or pride and become conscious of her purpose as that of service to humanity.

She Is Highly Sensitive

She is intuitive and highly sensitive and always listening to messages from spirit and therefore tends to shy away from unconscious people, “group think” or those still operating under their false persona. As a result she may come across as aloof, distant or mysterious.

Although a priestess can be relatable or can present as “normal” she might find that she generally doesn’t enjoy small talk and is selective about who she socialises with. She may not be aware that she is constantly picking up on downloads from people and so can easily feel drained or overwhelmed from sensory overload. She may have suffered from anxiety in her past due to not understanding this gift.

Exploring the Different Types of Priestesses and Their Roles

Long ago the priestesses in communities carefully observed the patterns and rhythms of Nature. Attuning to earth’s cycles, they honored the Great Mother by performing sacred seasonal rituals. Women, seen as an embodiment of the Great Mother, were deeply revered, honored and celebrated for, like the earth, a woman too was able to grow life within her. Later in history, Roman, Greek, and Egyptian priestesses lived in holy temples. They, too, worshiped the Great Mother, the Goddess in Her many forms. They served the spiritual needs of the community as well and were also held in high esteem. Numerous hierarchies and historical events ensued. Soon, men began to fear the power of priestesses. The natural spiritual and mystical practices of priestesses were viewed as evil. Their power, greatly misunderstood, was thought to be a dark force that needed to be annihilated. Thousands of priestesses were persecuted, put to death for their beliefs and spiritual practices. Those managing to escape death fled their holy temples and went underground into hiding.
